Roberto Cejas<\/strong>, el santafesino que se inmortaliz\u00f3 al cargar sobre sus hombros a Diego Armando Maradona<\/strong> tras la final del Mundial de M\u00e9xico 1986, falleci\u00f3 este lunes a los 68 a\u00f1os en su ciudad natal, Santa Fe, luego de una prolongada enfermedad.<\/p>\n

Su ic\u00f3nico gesto en el c\u00e9sped del Estadio Azteca se transform\u00f3 en una de las im\u00e1genes m\u00e1s reconocibles de la historia del f\u00fatbol: Maradona, con la Copa del Mundo en alto, sostenido por aquel hincha an\u00f3nimo que viaj\u00f3 miles de kil\u00f3metros impulsado por la pasi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Cejas, quien en aquel entonces trabajaba en una metal\u00fargica, decidi\u00f3 junto a un grupo de amigos viajar a M\u00e9xico exclusivamente para ver la final ante Alemania. Sin entrada ni acreditaci\u00f3n, logr\u00f3 ingresar al estadio y, al finalizar el encuentro, salt\u00f3 al campo entre la multitud. \u00abDiego me mir\u00f3, se fren\u00f3 y, sin decir palabra, entend\u00ed que quer\u00eda que lo levantara. Lo llev\u00e9 al trote mientras \u00e9l me iba indicando por d\u00f3nde ir\u00bb, relat\u00f3 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s en entrevistas televisivas.<\/p>\n

Esa postal recorri\u00f3 el planeta: el capit\u00e1n argentino sobre los hombros de Cejas, la Copa en sus manos y un pa\u00eds entero celebrando. \u00abMis nietos me ven en la tele y dicen: \u2018ese es el abuelo llevando a Maradona\u2019. Es un regalo que me dej\u00f3 la vida\u00bb, recordaba con orgullo.<\/p>\n

D\u00e9cadas m\u00e1s tarde, el destino volvi\u00f3 a unirlos durante el Mundial de Brasil 2014, en el programa De Zurda, conducido por el propio Maradona. \u00abNos dimos un abrazo muy lindo\u00bb, rememoraba Cejas, \u00abDiego se re\u00eda y me dec\u00eda: \u2018vos sab\u00e9s cu\u00e1nto pesa la Copa, pero yo s\u00e9 cu\u00e1nto peso yo con la Copa\u2019\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Cejas tambi\u00e9n sol\u00eda compartir una an\u00e9cdota de aquella tarde inolvidable: \u00abLe ped\u00ed un bot\u00edn y me dijo que no, que eran para la vieja. Me pareci\u00f3 un gesto hermoso, y lo respet\u00e9\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Siempre rest\u00f3 importancia a su papel<\/h2>\n

Con el paso de los a\u00f1os, se convirti\u00f3 en un s\u00edmbolo silencioso de aquel equipo campe\u00f3n. Siempre minimiz\u00f3 su protagonismo, asegurando que fue \u00abla mano de Dios\u00bb la que lo coloc\u00f3 justo en ese lugar y momento. \u00abNo s\u00e9 por qu\u00e9 me toc\u00f3 a m\u00ed\u00bb, dec\u00eda, \u00abpero s\u00e9 que voy a estar ah\u00ed para siempre, debajo de Diego\u00bb.<\/p>\n
