O astro do Hall da Fama, Allen Iverson<\/b>, revelou que est\u00e1 h\u00e1 seis meses s\u00f3brio. Em Entrevista<\/a> ao CBS Mornings sobre seu novo livro, “Misunderstood”, o \u00edcone do Philadelphia 76ers<\/a><\/b> compartilhou a import\u00e2ncia dessa decis\u00e3o em sua vida.<\/p>\n

“Uma das melhores decis\u00f5es que j\u00e1 tomei na vida foi parar de beber”, declarou Iverson.<\/p>\n

Questionado sobre como se sente desde que tomou a decis\u00e3o h\u00e1 seis meses, o 11 vezes All-Star afirmou que se sente “Melhor do que quando estava bebendo”.<\/p>\n

“Quando voc\u00ea est\u00e1 b\u00eabado, n\u00e3o \u00e9 voc\u00ea mesmo”, explicou Iverson. “Quanto mais eu vejo isso em outras pessoas, mais feliz fico com a decis\u00e3o. E quanto mais vejo o quanto as pessoas ao meu redor apreciam, mais eu amo.”<\/p>\n

A import\u00e2ncia da sobriedade e o livro “Misunderstood”<\/h2>\n

Iverson tamb\u00e9m explicou o motivo de escrever uma autobiografia e por que escolheu o t\u00edtulo “Misunderstood” (Incompreendido).<\/p>\n

“Com este livro, voc\u00eas est\u00e3o ouvindo diretamente da fonte”, disse Iverson. “”Misunderstood” vem de: voc\u00ea pensa que sabe, mas n\u00e3o tem ideia. H\u00e1 muitas coisas que as pessoas disseram sobre mim ao longo da minha carreira. Muitas delas doeram. Me chamando de ‘thug’ (valent\u00e3o), quando sei que n\u00e3o sou. Me julgando pela apar\u00eancia. Acho que essa foi uma das coisas mais dif\u00edceis que tive que lidar.”<\/p>\n

Durante sua carreira no Hall da Fama, Iverson gerou atritos com a liga pela forma como se vestia ao chegar aos jogos. Seu estilo, que inclu\u00eda jeans largos, camisetas oversized, correntes e bon\u00e9s, n\u00e3o condizia com a imagem que o ent\u00e3o comiss\u00e1rio da liga, David Stern, desejava promover. Antes da temporada 2005-06, a liga instituiu um c\u00f3digo de vestimenta “business casual”, que explicitava que os jogadores n\u00e3o poderiam mais usar correntes, camisetas e \u00f3culos escuros em ambientes fechados. Embora Iverson nunca tenha sido publicamente nomeado como o motivo do c\u00f3digo de vestimenta, era evidente na \u00e9poca que seu estilo era o que a liga queria eliminar.<\/p>\n

“Foi algo que a NBA<\/a> nunca tinha visto”, disse Iverson. “Nunca vimos ningu\u00e9m chegando aqui vestido assim, com correntes de diamantes, rel\u00f3gios e tran\u00e7as. Hoje em dia, todos esses caras na NBA t\u00eam suas pr\u00f3prias personalidades \u00fanicas. E o que vestem significa muito para eles. Agora eu recebo o cr\u00e9dito por isso deles.”<\/p>\n
